For students, Teachers' Day is an occasion to pay reverence and gratitude to teachers for their selfless effort in shaping their career and enriching the education system in the process.

When is Teachers' Day celebrated?

The date for celebrating this special event varies from country to country across the world. In India, Teachers' Day is celebrated on the 5th of September every year, whereas, China celebrates this event on 10th September every year. The celebration in each country is generally correlated to either significant personalities or achievements of milestone in the field of education. India celebrates Teachers' Day on September 5 since 1962 as it is the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, a prominent thinker, philosopher and an educator. Across the nation tributes are paid to noted scholar and former president Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan to celebrate his birth anniversary. Dr Radhakhrishnan believed that "teachers should be the best minds in the country".

Most of the schools and institutions make elaborate preparations for the celebrations. The ceremony usually kicks off with a warm Teachers' Day speech paying respect and thanking teachers for their contribution. Teachers Day Speech No. 2:

Good morning to one and all. I would like to present a beautiful Teachers Day Speech on the special occasion of Teachers' Day. On this day, we gratefully remember the great educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose dream was that "Teachers should be the best minds in the country". Hence, Teachers' Day is very important for all our people, for our students and even for all the parents, as the teachers lay the foundation for creating enlightened citizens for the nation. On this day, I would like to recall the teachers who helped me in shaping my life. In India, Teacher's Day (also called Teachers' Appreciation Day or National Teacher's Day) is celebrated on 5th of September, every year. The date was selected, because it is the birthday of a timeless teacher and the former President of India - Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. When some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday, he said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege, if September 5th is observed as Teacher's day".The request showed Dr.Radhakrishnan's love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, the 5th of September has been observed as Teachers Day, in India. Teachers have an influencing role in the life of every student. They are like beacons of light, guiding us in the formative years of our life. Teachers mould us and in the process and shape our future. What we learn from our teachers remains with us, throughout our life. However, very often, we fail to show our appreciation and gratitude for their altruistic devotion. Teachers do need encouragement and support from the community to feel that their efforts are being recognized. To serve the purpose, Teacher's Day is celebrated throughout the world, year by year. By celebrating National Teacher's Day, we thank our teachers for providing us their invaluable guidance.

I hereby conclude my Teachers Day Speech. Have a good day!

Teachers Day Speech No. 3:

A very good morning to all the teachers and my dear friends. On the occasion of Teachers Day, I would like to present a Teachers Day Speech to convey my feelings about this occasion.

In India, 5th September is celebrated as Teaches' Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was the well-known diplomat, scholar, President of India and above all a Teacher.

Apart from the fun aspect of the day it is also a day when one can look back, admire and get inspired by Dr. Radhakrishnan, a small town cunning boy, who grew up to become one of the most respected politicians in the history of democracy of India.

But it is sad to note that the teacher-student relationship has deteriorated at present. Instead of being modest, the students at present have become malicious. They have no love for learning. So they have no respect for their teachers. Some money minded teachers have also contaminated the atmosphere of teaching in schools and colleges. At present it is necessary for us to realise the value of the Teachers' Day.

Teachers Day Speech In Hindi:
